Braille on money would be awkward, since the indentations would be worn down
after a while, but many governments do consider the partially-sighted when
designing banknotes. (Dutch money is particularly brilliant!) In the UK, for
example, £1 notes are green, £5 notes are blue, £10 notes are brown, and £20
notes are red. (I can't remember what colour £50 notes are, it's been too
long since I saw one... <g>) They're also all a slightly different size and
shape, so that you *can* learn to figure out by touch alone which note has
which denomination (Dutch money is better in that regard, too.)
I was told once by a Californian friend that the reason US notes are all
virtually identical is because the US government wants to teach children the
importance of learning to read figures. <g>
