I would disagree with this request. When I've been out of the office
for a day or two (or even a weekend) I can have 80+ messages that
haven't been read yet. Without the [listserv name] in the subject area,
I can easily sort the incoming mail by subject, see the original and all
answers to a specific issue and either read or delete the messages. By
adding the listserv name, everything from TECHWR-L will now be together
without any respect to the remaining subject category. This means I
will have to pick and choose from all the TECHWR-L mail to get
everything on a single subject.
By having TECHWR-L in the TO: area, you should be able to easily
determine how to handle.

Subject: [TECHWR-L] formatting suggestion
I have a suggestion for this listserv...
I've come close to missing a couple of very large contracts because I
couldn't differentiate between potential clients' messages and those
from
this list. Now I love reading the messages from this list, but I need
to be
able to distinguish what comes from here easily.
On my other listservs, they use a subject line format as displayed
above:
[listserv name] subject
The listserv name is inserted by the program before posting to the list.
