TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I am one who selected "not very; professional interest only" because I don't
care to develop an interest at the same level of detail that I document
microprocessors for wireless mobile products. I'd rather have an
understanding at a much higher level, and I do spend some bucks on books for
that understanding. For example, I chose to purchase a book on the Bluetooth
specification for global wireless technology rather than download and read
the actual spec because the book presents the information to me at the level
of detail I want. The bigger picture interests me; not the minutia.
