Way back when, my first slackware distro called it the
feeble-virtual-window-manager. Curiously though, _Free_ (while probably the
correct answer) is hardly a distinction in an arena where 90% of the WMs are
free.
Tried a google for _feeble virtual window manager_, 202 hits return.
for _free virtual window manager_, 41 hits return.
