Not at all. I love that part. In fact, I think that's why many of us chose
this profession--the periodic newness. Usually the way I start when I have
no clue what the product i'm documenting is, is find out what the hell it
is! Ask what it does, who will use it, and why. Then use one for yourself
(if you can of course--I remember a writer on this list documenting fighter
jet avionics).
