Documentation Projects_ by Joanne Hackos. It has
detailed guidelines and templates for information and
content plans.
One thing to think about is who is the audience for
your content plan. Is it just to keep yourself
organized, or is it to communicate with other
technical writers working on the project (or on
related projects), your boss, or people in other
departments, such as development or product managers?
How detailed you need to be, and what sort of
information you include, depends on what the purpose
of the plan is.
