This is for a standalone system. I'm not entirely clear about
how clients and servers play, but we just have HTML pages
displayed by Netscape browser, so I don't think there is any
server involved.
In that case, the server is the machine where the files are stored. It doesn't have to be a big expensive dedicated machine, and you can still use SSI.
