Need guru to help with something on the ASP-VBscript-MS Access axis
Subject:Need guru to help with something on the ASP-VBscript-MS Access axis From:"Dick Margulis " <margulis -at- mail -dot- fiam -dot- net> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Wed, 26 Sep 2001 16:28:35 -0400
I've exhausted all the Web, Help, and internal developer resources I can find. Maybe someone on the list can solve this puzzle or point me to a better resource.
I'm trying to build an intranet page to update an Access database table. For several of the fields (owner, author, etc.), I want the user to select an employee name from a dropdown list. The employee names come from a different database and they are just text fields, where a name is expressed in normal order with spaces between words, for example, "Dick Margulis."
When I click the Submit button, however, the value that gets returned to the database is "Dick." In other words, the string gets truncated at the first space.
I won't pollute the list by attaching a whole bunch of code here, but I'd be delighted to correspond off-list with anyone who has any expertise in this area or has encountered and solved the same problem before.
