I'm not an expert, but I'm guessing that these are malapropisms, especially
if this developer is younger or inexperienced.

"Persistent" and "partitioning" are probably what is meant...get clear on
the meaning of these terms from a database reference, and ask the developer
if that is what he/she means to say.
