Thanks for the rapid replys, both on and off list. I have been
able to locate a definition for "consistent" data. Oracle defines
it as the ability for multiple users to all see the same data,
including updates that they and others make.
However, as I suspected, databases are partitioned. Where the
malapropism came from -- when you partition a database, you
make use of a portioning key.
And yes, Michael, he is young. One of those whipersnappers that
you hope live long enough to profit from their mistakes. <sigh>
