Time for me to chime in, I guess....
As a mathematician who writes, I am appalled every time I see the misuse of
a decimal place in pricing.
I was getting copies made, and the sign said .025 cents each. I asked if I
could get 1000 copies for a quarter. After I taught them a math lesson, the
sign was changed to 2.5 cents.
