Yep, it's legal. California has the same deal. They don't have to give you
notice and they don't need to state a reason why you are being let go. The last
time I signed one of these, it also stated I still had to give 2 weeks notice,
although I suspect that was whistling in the dark. If they don't have to give
me notice or a reason, then I don't have to give them any either, or justify my
leaving. It is not, however, really designed in the worker's best interests.
So much for a 90-day probationary period. Your whole job is a probationary
period.
I don't remember when this started. It seemed to come up suddenly and without
warning, but maybe I just wasn't watching the news that day.
