RE: MS Word: Right aligning heading text in a numbered heading style
Subject:RE: MS Word: Right aligning heading text in a numbered heading style From:"Becca Croft" <bcroft -at- plexisweb -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Tue, 23 Oct 2001 11:06:35 -0700
<I do have a right-aligned tab and a tab after the numbering all set up in
the heading style. When I insert the heading style, I get the number and
then the curser is at the right-aligned tab (which is at the end of the
line, right side of the printed page margin). However, when I begin to enter
the text, at the right-aligned tab stop, the text doesn't right align, and
thus wraps to the next line.>
A humble suggestion:
Check the indentation, too, to be sure it isn't set at something other than
the left margin (0"). Remember, the paragraph style should be left-aligned,
it's just the tab stop that should "right". You may also want to check to
sure there aren't any extra tab stops built in to the style as these may be
pushing the text to the next line. The only other place I can think of to
look is the "special" part of the indentation... first line, hanging etc...
but that would be indicated by your left margin already.
I'm quite experienced with the right-aligned headers nightmare. I truly hope
you find a cure.
