TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.

> Why does a union cause more frivolous lawsuits?
Because, as a rule, unions will defend all members for "wrongful" dismissal
claims without first checking to see whether the dismissal qualifies as
"wrongful".
As a technical writer, I don't feel the need for a union to protect my
"rights" against the potential damage that an employer could do to me. At
this stage, all I would get is a claim on a portion of my paycheque, and I
have more than enough claims against my paycheque as it is.
