This has been beat to death, but I'll wade in anyway.

- "Turn the radio on" when the emphasis is on "on" (versus "off")

- "Turn on the radio" when the emphasis is on "radio" (as opposed to "turn
on the toaster").

In other words, end the sentence with the key word.
