Hmmm... me too. Also, some spam looks unpleasantly "targeted", such as a
recent arrival of an ad for "Data Processing, Translation, Software and Web
Localisation Services".
Some spam is unavoidable. The cleanest mailing lists I've found are
yahoogroups - providing you avoid signing up for any of *their* spam. I have
a separate e-mail address at home, exclusively for mailing lists, most of
which (started out as one-lists, then e-groups, now) are yahoogroups. I've
never received any spam at that mailing address over the three years it's
been in operation: none of the mailing lists it's used for allow
non-subscribers access to the e-mail addresses.

I'm seeing the same thing, although I've been here a bit longer.
Considering my own posting habits, it does appear that the echoed list has
been targeted by spambots. (I have no doubt that Eric and Deb keep the
subscription list under wraps.)
