Leslie, if you haven't checked it out yet, there's a lot of great information about Word to Frame conversions in the FrameMaker section of the Adobe website's User-to-User forum. Be sure to watch for Tim Murray's postings, as he has a website setup with lots of good tips and workarounds, at http://www.techknowledgecorp.com

As far as your graphics, the answer is "it depends" on several things, but the best results are usually from importing the original graphic file directly into FM, rather than relying on graphics that have been pasted into Word.

Tables usually need tweaking, depending on how they were designed. Some cell effects in Word are not possible in FM. There's a great utility called TableCleaner by Rick Quatro that helps enormously in Word-to-FM conversions, at http://www.frameexpert.com
