> Andreas,

Here's something to keep in mind when purchasing a dictionary: weight.

My American Heritage Third Edition dictionary is the ultimate word source in my household, and a must-have. However, weighing in at 7.5 pounds, the book sits on the bookcase daring anyone to try picking it up. A stand would be nice. You have to really WANT the information. Here is when you need a lightweight paperback. In my opinion, the American Heritage dictionary can't be beat. It's the pictures, lots of them, complete with captions that make it superior to any other.

Buy them both and you can't go wrong.

George
