I am new to this mailing list and a junior technical writer in France
(computer science field).
I am looking for an editor generating both online (search engine, TOC,
index, glossary) and printed documentation (pdf format). There seems to be
two majors competitors on the market (at least on the French market): Epic
suite (Arbortext), and FrameMaker + Webworks + Adobe Acrobat. Has any of
you ever had the opportunity to compare these tools? What software would
you recommend (...any other tool if you know one)? What are the pros and
cons?
An additional important point in my evaluation is that I need to import
existing html files.
Thanks for you help (and apologies if this has been covered recently, I
could not find the information from the archives).
Sandrine Touze.
