Generally speaking, no. You can clear the various checkbox options on the
internal formats to increase the range available, but at the end of the day
they are still very limited. To get around this you have two possible
options:
1) Draw up your table all purty-like, then save it as autotext, and whack
that autotext entry onto a custom menu. Selecting that option will insert
your fabulously styled table.
2) (Not easy). Write a macro to style up any table to your specs. I can help
with this if required as I have spent quite a bit of time programatically
playing with tables. It aint fun. The biggest hint here is that the
selection object can do stuff that a .cell or a .row object wont. Also, the
.range.cells sequentialises the cells for you which can make life easier in
some circumstances.

I'm creating a template in Word (2000) and I want to create a table format
and add it to the template. I do not want to use the table formats that come
with Word by default, rather, I want to create my own format and have it
included in the Insert Table AutoFormat list. Is it possible to do this?
