Subject:RE: Question about dressing for job interviews From:"Secara, Maggie" <Maggie -dot- Secara -at- indymacbank -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Mon, 14 Jan 2002 09:51:15 -0800
I don't own a suit. I look stupid in a suit: dumpy, uncomfortable, *and*
unprofessional. Recruiters gasp in dismay when I tell them I'm not wearing a
suit to an interview, but that's just too bad. I generally wear a skirt and
nice sweater, with nylons and sensible high-heels (polished). I have even
(speaking of gasp!) gotten a job while wearing slacks, although I've gone
back to skirts in these difficult times. Oddly enough, my resume and my
personal charm (and actual competance) has been of more importance than
looking like a rather rumpled accountant would have done.
This in Southern California.
