Up until this year, I have had no problem getting training like everyone
else in our engineering department. I have taken 3D CAD training, machine
schools to learn about our products (right alongside our customers),
Franklin Planner training, Microsoft and Lotus training, and I also took a
Visual Basic course at the community college.
This year, I wanted to learn how to use FrameMaker's FDK, but travel is not
in the budget. I wanted to take advanced FrameMaker training, but, again,
travel is not in the budget. So, I think in my case, training is seen as
important, but it is the first thing cut in a poor economy. My college
classes toward my degree are the only thing that is still being paid for.
Good luck to ya, homeboy!
