Techwrlers please help!
I need to create a two column "table"
but need to use DIV and/or SPAN tags
*anything but* actual html table cells.
Each column the "table" will contain
varying amounts of text. And where
I'm having problems is how to align
the "cells" of this "table" so that,
for instance, the text in cell five
of the first column aligns with the
text of cell five in the second column.
If you're wondering why I just don't use
a table, its because I'm using DHTML to
dynamically hide/show various rows based
on a user's query. Using an actual table
structure doesn't work well because it
sometimes produces large amounts of
vertical white space between the visible
cells (casued of course by all the hidden
cells in-between). I'm using the CSS
display='none' v.s. 'inline' or 'block'
but none of these seem to work on a
table in Internet Explorer 5.
I don't have the option of using any
server-side solutions. Its all got to be
client-side.
So with that lenghty explaination ... my
question again is, can I emulate a two
column table structure using CSS?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
