It'll be "groaty to the maximus" to try to do it the way you have
envisioned it. If I'm understanding what you're trying to do, what you
might want to try is:

1) One <div>...</div> for each option. Give each <div> a unique ID and the
display for this ID is set to "none".
2) Within the <div> make a complete <table>...</table> set which formats
the option the way you want it displayed.
3) Use javascript to set the display to "block" of the ID's you want to
make visible.

This ain't pretty, either, but it might work. Has not been tested, so no
guarantees.
