Re: Keep health records private? (Was: Gray hair, etc)
Are health records really routinely checked at hiring time?
Back in the dark ages, I worked in a factory where a full physical was required before hiring. I was asked questions such as whether I had menstrual cramps!
Today, most of these questions are prohibited by virtual of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Perhaps things are different in other countries, though.
I also was treated in the not-to-distant past for depression and Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome. I have never had a potential employer even ask about my health, nor has this treatment affected my ability to get a job. (One of my therapy strategies was to leave teaching and start tech writing full-time!)
