Re: Applying On-Line
What is the prefered format for submitting documents when applying for jobsI generally type my cover letter directly into the mail program since I think that submitting it any other way makes it look canned. If I want to preserve it, I'll type it into Word, then select all and paste it into the mail program.
on-line? I've been sending resumes and cover letters as pdf. documents
thinking they are universally accessible, and more resistant to srambling in
transit. I've been getting some messages back that the files can't be
opened. Should I be sticking to plain text or some other format instead?
I usually submit the resume as a Word document, except in those cases where someone specifically asks for it as a text file.
