Hi,

I want to write not as much about formatting, because there are templates and tools for such things.

Just some other thoughts:

1. Internationalization
There will be much more working together between different countries.
The user will not accept documents in a foreign language as much as they do it now.

2. Teamwork between producer and user

I think, technical writing will become more user related. There will be an initial document, but it will be improved and the user will have more interactive options.

3. Interactive "intelligent" manual

There will be printed manuals and there will be on-line manuals. The on-line-manuals will be contextsensitive, that means the manuals will become programs themselves. There will or may be connections to other information resources and - at least in some parts - possibilities for direct questions.

4. Solution oriented

User and producer will be working together to solve problems. User will share their knowledge, (for example in a kind of forum) and give more feedback to the writer.

There are also some other items, but I want to finish here. Please excuse errors in style or grammar.

5. Multimedia

Documents will include more multimedia parts, for example small movies.

6. Simulation

Documents will include parts, were the user can simulate the processes, for example on small databases, or on input masks, and so on

Best regards
Bernd
