TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
In my humble opinion, instructions are cut and dried:
1. Put the key in the ignition
2. Turn the key
3. Place the gearshift in drive (Caution: Look in all directions before
pulling out of parking space).
A tutorial, on the other hand, would include bells and whistles, showing the
latest and greatest car that your company had to offer, and several chapters
on the various types of driving you could do.
Ask for the moon, but settle for its reflection in the pond in your
backyard.
