There were horror stories a few years ago when people discovered that a
whole host of newsgroups/mailing lists specializing in emotional support
(addictions, medical issues, personal problems, etc.) were archived and
available through one of the search engines.

People often ask "Can I quote you?" when "May I quote you?" is what they
really mean.
