More on this subject (I didn't realize the stctesig and the techwr-l were in
cahoots. My messages to techwr-l get refused if the first line is the same
as a message to the stctesig list.I figured there were not always the same
people on these two lists, so thought nothing of sending my posts to both):
One kind editor has pointed out that I missed a spelling mistake and that
when converted to "accepted changes", the word spacing is abominable.
Clearly I haven't enough experience in Word's editing function to do well in
a fast-paced environment.
I am a bit annoyed with myself that I missed the misspelled word but
corrected a different error in it, but I am somewhat comforted about the
fact that the main reason a publisher might not want me is that I am
inexperienced in the tracking business.
This is great -- I am learning so much from this. Thank you all! But, look,
if you haven't the time, don't feel obliged to read and comment. Were I not
so worried about my economic future, I would not be so concerned, as you
know. But I think I have a much better handle on what went wrong.
