TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
T-letter stands for table letter, is my understanding. I heard that from the
first person I heard mention it (on this list, last summer), which moved me
to create my own T-letter. It worked well for me; I got the job.
The two columns in the table are 1) job requirements (as stated by employer)
and 2) my skills/experience, how they relate exactly to each and every
stated requirement.
Note that to get a nice long list of requirements, you might have to call
the hiring manager. You don't want to address just the 3-4 reqs that were in
the ad.
