>As a technical writer, do people (coworkers, customers,
>internal users, anyone) look to you as an expert on the
>product you document? To what extent, and in what circumstances?
Not usually an expert. Usually a novice when the product is first being
developed. Then, as I document it, I gain familiarity, but I'm never the
expert.
>In your current job as a technical writer, what are you
>considered (by others) to be a Subject Matter Expert of?
Our XML authoring tools, grammer and punctuation, organizing info in a
logical and useable way, doing searches and finding stuff on the 'net.
