I have also been tasked with this kind of writing, at most companies where I
have worked.  I guess they do it because they know that I can.

Recently, I received an email as I was leaving, "P1 coming in..."  This is
equivalent to the call of "Incoming..." during a war -- everyone ducks and
runs to their stations.  The engineers worked until midnight to put together
a bug fix (uh..a release, in politically-correct speech).  I came in at 7:00
AM and had until 10:30 AM to put together the docs.  I enjoyed it...I thrive
on stress!
