Hi Kevin
I might be missing the point, but why are you using Notepad?
I've been working with - and splitting - PDFs for ages. (I used to work in
training, and one PDF made a multi-volume training manual, which had to be
sent to the printers as multiple PDFs).
My method (a bit long-winded but it does work) was as follows:
1) If you want to split the PDF into e.g. 3 parts, make 3 copies and each
as appropriate (mymanualA.pdf, mymanualB.pdf).
2) A will contain pages 1-200. In Acrobat, delete pages 201-600.
B will contain pages 201-400. In Acrobat, delete pages 1-200 and 401-600.
C will contain pages 401-600. Delete pages 1-400.
3) Zip or burn to CD
4) Transfer to your other PC
5) Open mymanualA.pdf, add mymanualB.pdf and save. Add mymanualC.pdf and
save. Voila!
Good luck,
Emma
