Of course, most of these positions would not be considered as actually working for the government in the strictest sense. Most of the companies hiring in the DC Metro area are companies like AT&T, Geico, SAIC, and private sector consulting firms that just happen to work with some sensitive info. Hence the clearance requirement. So you wouldn't necessarily be a government employee, you'd just have to be cleared to look at government information.
