Subject:FrameMaker for magazine production? From:jsokohl -at- mac -dot- com To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Tue, 22 Oct 2002 13:46:33 -0600
Hi all,
I've been using FM since v3.0 for the Mac...and have used it on all three
platforms since then.
Now, I'm in a situation where I need to create a small magazine--but it'll
be CMYK, 4-color, coated sheet-fed printed...sort of like a trade magazine
for about 600 in-house folks. I convinced the management types to buy FM
7.0 here (so I can use it instead of Word for long doc production).
Anyone using FM for magazine or newsletter production? Dealing with
printing presses? Prepress? Any advice? Issues?
This isn't a plea for comparison--if you're using or if you favor Quark or
InDesign instead of FM, let's leave that convo for another time. Instead,
I just want to hear stories (both good & bad) from folks using FM for
magazine or newsletter production, printing out separations & such...
Thanks,
joe
