Hello,
How do other people out there in the tech writing world handle legal disclaimers in online formats: specifically winhelp or htmlhelp.
Has anyone ever put a legal disclaimer on every page of their training or documentation? I was having a disagreement with a co-worker over this. I thought it seemed strange to put a legal disclaimer on every page of an online training .chm. At the very least, I thought it was unnecessary verbage that just added to the length of the training exercise and forced more scrolling.
But she insists it's what the company wants. I figured it was appropriate at the beginning and that was fine. I've never seen it done this way.
Also, do people typically put legal disclaimers in online help and online training? You see them in print, but how often in online format?
Please respond to me directly, as I get the writing list in digest format.
thanks,
Justin Kelley
