There are several public-domain clip art libraries that can be had on CD (at your local CompUSA or BestBuy) or downloaded from the web for free or little money (less than $10).
A quick search of Yahoo.com and google.com for the terms "free clip art library" yielded countless results. Take your pick.

Subject: Using graphics without breaking the law
Hi all. I'm a sort of new tech writer. I'm at the graphics and layout
phase of my project. I'm a writer, not a graphic designer, so creating
complex graphics is beyond me. I can make and edit screen caps, and I
think I could do a little !-in-a-yellow-triangle, but nothing more
complex than that.
I want to know how I can find graphics - clip art, really - that I can
use without attribution. Can I use the MS Word clip art? I could use
some advice. Hiring a graphic artist is not an option, for both time
and money reasons.
Thanks.
