Sounds like you would be a perfect 'bug tracker!' ;-)
Seriously though, you might want to try to get jobs in fields ancillary to
tech writing, where your analytical and programming knowledge would be
appreciated, like QC. You should look into learning scripting languages
('shameless Python [www.python.org] plug here!') and 3GLs like C(++) C#,
Java.
Employers are looking (in large part anyway) for people who can do it first,
then write about it (or talk about it -- for tech trainers) -- read up on a
lot of what the resident TECHWR-L philosopher Plato (Andrew) says. Bitter
pills to swallow, but grains of truth nonetheless.
