I think the attitude expressed in the original quote is clear: consistency is
more important than content.
As Chris has thankfully pointed out, the quoted writer said that consistnecy was _almost_ more important, so maybe the attitude isn't all that clear. (I missed that too.)
The idea that these writers have somehow "ascended past" worrying about accuracy
is laughable.
This seems to be a rather strong conclusion to draw from a hearsay quote without any context.
