I think that is great...send some of that thawed job market to
Orlando, Florida. I have received some position announcements,
but they want you to be a programming analyst that can manage
a team of ten, have ten years experience and create install
manuals for $30,000 dollars a year.
That's the sort of position announcements I'm seeing here in Rochester. Most documentation-related jobs I've seen listed recently at local companies have been titled Entry-level Technical Writer or Jr. Documentation Specialist. Many of them listed qualification requirements like "8-10 years experience documenting JAVA programs", "responsible for a department of 6 writers and editors", or [my personal favorite] "2-5 years programming or engineering experience required; communications skills and Accounts Receivable a plus".
