Bryan,
I understand and appreciate the point you are trying to make, but I don't
think that statement is accurate. Here's how I see it:
Q: Can you pilot a plane built by Piper?
A: Yes
Q: So you have flown Piper planes before?
A: No
Q: What makes you think you can fly this plane?
A: I have a lot of experience and logged hours in planes built by Cessna. I
have a strong understanding of flying, and all I believe that the controls
in a Cessna and a Piper are similar. With my experience in Cessna craft, I
feel I can quickly learn the controls of the Piper.
The original question had to do with the ability to switch to a competing
product in the same field. "I can drive a car therefore I can fly a plane"
is like saying "I am an expert with using Word, therefore I can use
AutoCAD." Perhaps, but unlikely.
Just my 2¢
