Tom,

While I think it is a great idea to ask what it was that DIDN'T get you the
interview, sending it a personal account that you found through a search is
a bit unprofessional (IMNHO). While these searches are common and easy, it
smacks a bit of cyber-stalking.

More to the point, simply by asking the question you probably already know
the answer, right? :-)

What I would do is to either call HR/Reception and ask for his work email,
or (even better) send a thank-you note via snail mail thanking him for his
time and acknowledging that you are aware that you are not in contention for
the position. Provide your email address, and ask him if he would mind
talking to you about what he perceived to have been your shortcomings. If he
is willing, ask him to send you his contact info and you will email him.

This maintains the contact, shows your professionalism extends beyond
regular job skills, and let's him decide if he wants to continue taking.

Just my 2c
