Re: using a slogan on a resume
Ugh. Does anyone really include an objective anymore? And if so, what's a good reason? From my perspective, I can't imagine using up space (especially at the very beginning!) that I could use for info about my background. I suppose I've replaced the objective (which I've always avoided because I hated writing them!) with a title (which goes up with my name and doesn't take away any vertical space.Opinion seems about equvally divided between whether to use an objective or not. Those who advocate an objective stress that, like a slogan, it should summarize what you can do for an employer, not your career goals.
In other words, "To write great documentation" or "To become a CEO before I'm forty" are both examples of objectives that you'd be better off not using. But "To deliver accurate and concise documentation on time to lower technical support costs and improve customer relations" might help you.
