Hi,

Chicago Manual of Style 14th edition in para 6.16 says:
-----------------------------------------------------------
So far as it can be cone without confusion, single or multiple letters,
hyphenated coinages, and numbers used as nouns (whterh spelled out or in
numberals) form the plural by adding s alone (see also 6.82 [which uses
apostrophes in proverbial expressions, such as "mind your p's and q's"]):

xs and ys all SOSs
the thre Rs several YMCAs and AYHs
thank-you-ma'ams CODs and IOUs
in twos and threes the early 1920s

Not unexpectedly, there are some exceptions to this rule....
----------------------------------------------------------------
Hope this helps.

joe
