TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Just recently when I taught freshman comp., I assigned several online readings
about blogging. The way I understand it, blogging is much more than keeping a
journal online for the world to read. Blogging is a phenomenon that combines old
fashioned personal journaling and the interactive, collaborative nature of
online communities. Some blogs have a single author, but often bloggers invite
readers to contribute. And a whole culture of blogging has emerged, where
bloggers sometimes cooperate (e.g., blogging web rings and linked blogs) and
sometimes compete for readers' attention.
