The link to Canada Customs and Revenue Agency is very good.

The IRS uses similar questions to determine who is an employee.

The issue of control is important. If someone tells you that you must be there during working hours, then it is a situation that has to be discussed and cleared up.

Ask for written clarification to contract terms.
