WinHelp macro (or web link) to open new file using Word template?

Christine Anameier wonders: <<I want to set up a link in a WinHelp file that
will create a new file from a Word template. ExecFile just opens the
template itself-not good, that'll create too many ways for our users to get
confused. I want them
to click the link and see a new Document1 based on the template. Been
playing around with ShellExecute too, but to no avail.>>
You're gonna hate yourself... <g> Open the template in Word and do a "save
as", but with two quirks: first, make sure the document type is set to Word
document (rather than Word template); second, choose Document1 as the file
name. Now all you need to do is use the ExecFile macro. Voila! A document
called Document1, based on the template, opens up.
One big catch: if a user now saves the document (rather than doing "save
as"), they'll replace your Document1 with their document. There are a few
ways to solve this, most obviously by setting Document1 to be "read only",
which will force them to choose a new file name, or by protecting the
document directory so they don't have the rights to save files in that
directory. Both should work.
