Ruby Isaacs wonders: <<Will you please recommend an ergonomic desk that I
can buy in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada?>>
Can't help you with Ottawa, though I got an Ikea desk (the Effektiv?) that
works just fine for me. Best of all, you can try before you buy. Do you have
an Ikea in Ottawa?
<<Also, what measurements do you need to take to make sure that a desk is
the right height for you?>>
<<I think my old desk was made in the 1970s -- before the age of
ergonomics.>>
Ergonomics isn't a fixed ideal: it means making something work _for you_.
What's ergonomic for you might be an ergonomic disaster for me. The key rule
of ergonomics (oversimplified) is as follows: "If it's not comfortable,
something's wrong and needs to be fixed." You're the only one who can tell
whether something's wrong.
