>>Does anyone have comments about including LOT /
LOFs in software user references (print / PDF)
from a usablity point of view?
>>In most of the printed software user guides that
I've seen, these don't exist.
Generally in software manuals, LOTs & LOFs are considered a waste of ink and
paper. In an industrial engineering or scientific setting, the lifetime of a
manual is much longer than a software manual.
By the time a software user guide is actually in the hands of a customer,
the product has changed to warrant post-release documentation. Therefore, it
does not make sense to include LOTs and LOFs in software documentation
unless the product is no longer a moving target.
